About me
Who am I?
Hey there! I’m Vishaal Saravanan, a 24-year-old AI Engineer with a fascination for all things AI. My love for tech started when Iron Man’s J.A.R.V.I.S. captured my imagination as a kid, and ever since, I’ve been building my own smart systems (unfortunately, no flying suit yet!).
During my bachelor’s, I co-founded "Tuloops," a student startup where we developed AI-driven and SaaS applications. That experience gave me a foundation in building solutions for real-world problems and sparked my transition into more advanced AI challenges during my Master’s.
One of my favorite projects involved anomaly detection. I designed a multi-modal AI system that fused video and audio data to predict the birth of cows (yes, cows!). Using just a CCTV camera and a microphone, I built a scalable solution perfect for edge devices like Google Coral. It’s projects like this that remind me how AI can turn everyday tasks into something extraordinary
I’ve also worked on fascinating projects like using LSTM models to predict soil moisture and optimize irrigation for sustainable urban farming. Another highlight was applying vision transformers in digital pathology to assist in detecting gastric cancer—pushing the boundaries of AI in healthcare. I even redesigned symbolic system rules for AI systems to detect faulty components in industrial settings, making factory operations smarter and more efficient.
But beyond the technical side, I’m passionate about using AI for good—especially in the fight against climate change. Whether it’s improving agriculture, conserving energy, or reducing industrial waste, I believe AI can help create a greener, more sustainable world.
